2008 Rioja Reserva, Bodegas Lealtanza

An amazing example of great Rioja showing sweet vanilla oak with juicy ripe plum fruit, leather and spice. Concentrated and long with touches of animal notes and old furniture, and fine grained tannins.

2014 Grenache/Syrah, Domaine Colombette, Pays l'Herault, France

A wonderfully balanced red with Syrah adding some depth and spice and the Grenache giving attractive red berry fruits.


2015 Corbieres Vielle Vignes, Chateau Fontareche, France

Lovely ripe red fruits with hints of garrigue and spice, this is rustic and characterful but in a soft and approachable way.


2014 Sangiovese di Toscana, Caparzo, Italy

A deliously juicy and toothsome Sangiovese with ripe cherry fruit and spice.


2015 Aldeya de Ayles Garnacha, DO Carinena, Spain

This medium bodied organic Granacha shows juicy red fruits, garrigue notes alongside, subtle oak and smooth tannins. Pure and fresh.


2015 La Flor Malbec, Pulenta, Mendoza, Argentina

A masterful vintage of this super consistent wine - plump and rounded with velvety smooth dark berry fruits.


2013 Mas Picosa, Celler de Capcanes, DO Montsant, Spain

Medium ruby with violet highlight; red fruit aromas, spicy cake; ripe and nicely concentrated. The Grenache character shines through on the medium finish with ripe, sweet tannins and brilliantly balanced freshness.


2015 Côtes du Rhône 'Air de Remejeanne', Domaine la Remejeanne, France

Made from organically grown grenache and syrah grapes from the north western hills of the Côtes du Rhône. The cooler micro-climate and the thin soils ensure a wine with very pretty fresh berry flavours with gentle angular tannins, truly delightful.


2014 Villa Wolf Pinot Noir, Pfalz, Germany

Medium-bodied with forward, dark cherry fruit, a firm structure and a spicy mid-palate. Six months of barrique aging gives it a smoky depth and a nice backbone of earthy tannins.


2012 Hales Shiraz, Barossa Valley, Australia

Intense dark berry fruit and peppery spice and a beautifully rounded and smooth palate.


2013 Rioja Crianza Edicion Limitada, Bodegas Ramon Bilbao, Spain

Made from old Tempranillo vines, this oak fermented Rioja has red berry, plum and cherry aromas that are followed by smoked notes on the palate, with well structured tannins and a balanced finish.


2014 Paper Road Pinot Noir, Paddy Borthwick, Wairarapa, New Zealand

Dark ruby red colour. Fine plummy Pinot scents. The wine fills the mouth with concentrated Pinot fruit, supported by velvet soft tannins. Long, generous finish.


2012 Chateau Saint-Aubin, Cru Bourgeois Medoc, Bordeaux

Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot provide the backbone of silky tannins and rich plum and cassis flavour, Cabernet Franc adds leafy raspberry notes, Carmenere brings lush cherry and chocolate and a splash of Petit Verdot gives inky depth. A portion of the wine was fermented in French oak, adding a seam of spicy vanilla to the rich complex flavours. Elegant and long.


2012 Nebbiolo d'Alba, Renato Ratti

Very expressive Nebbiolo with earthy strawberry and raspberry fruit flavours and pleasant bitterness.


2010 Ataraxia 'Serenity', Stellenbosch, South Africa

Deep coloured with a nose of smoky black fruits. Full bodied with savoury and herbal notes to compliment the blackberry jam flavours, the tannins are full yet incredibly velvety.


2007 Château Fourcas Hoston, Listrac Medoc, France

Rich and concentrated with supple, seemless fruit and very well integrated oak. This is succulent and ripe but also has great finesse and underlying structure.


2011 Beaune 1er Cru du Chateau, Bouchard Pere et Fils, Burgundy, France

This wine is a blend of 17 different vineyards all from within the Beaune Premiere Crus area. A fine perfumed bouquet leads in to a harmonius, balanced and soft red Burgundy.


2012 Gigondas, Domaine Santa Duc, Rhone, France

Yves Gras at Santa Duc is consistently one of the very best producers in Gigondas and makes wines which show well in their youth.


2010 Barolo La Serra, Marcarini, Italy

Delicate yet intense and persistent with notes of violets and spice. A well balanced palate is impressive and has a wonderful velvety texture.
